How are these practices distinctive, and how are they implemented on the North Fork for fresh seasonal produce that nourishes the land and our community. Will future generations have these options?<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>***Please note: Peconic Landing&#8217;s Community Center parking lot is currently blocked off for construction. Please follow signs and proceed to the temporary guest lot at Brecknock Hall. A shuttle will be available from 6:30pm-9:00pm. Early arrival is strongly recommended.***<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>ABOUT THE PANELISTS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div>Fred Lee, his son Will, and Will\u2019s partner Lucy own and operate Sang Lee Farm, continuing the legacy of Fred\u2019s family that first farmed Asian vegetables for the New York wholesale market. \u00a0Today, Sang Lee Farm is a certified organic grower of over 100 varieties of vegetables for a retail market, including their home farmstand in Peconic, numerous farmer\u2019s markets and a CSA.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Ira Haspel , owner and farmer at KK\u2019s the Farm since 1999 using biodynamic practices. \u00a0Ira is a graduate of Columbia\u2019s School of Architecture and originally came to the North Fork for a relaxing quality of life. \u00a0His wife KK used \u00a0biodynamic farming to grow fruits and vegetables for family and friends, starting in 2001 and Ira became committed to this type of farming. \u00a0 \u00a0 After KK passed away in 2014, Ira continued her work, providing produce for their farmstand and over 10 restaurants in the area.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Louisa Hargrave and her then-husband Alex planted and farmed Long Island\u2019s first commercial vineyard and winery, Hargrave Vineyard, from 1973 to 1999. \u00a0She has also been a writer, journalist and wine judge.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FREE.
