How are these practices distinctive\, and how are they implemented on the North Fork for fresh seasonal produce that nourishes the land and our community. Early arrival is strongly recommended.*** \nABOUT THE PANELISTS: \nFred Lee\, his son Will\, and Will’s partner Lucy own and operate Sang Lee Farm\, continuing the legacy of Fred’s family that first farmed Asian vegetables for the New York wholesale market.  Today\, Sang Lee Farm is a certified organic grower of over 100 varieties of vegetables for a retail market\, including their home farmstand in Peconic\, numerous farmer’s markets and a CSA.\n\nIra Haspel \, owner and farmer at KK’s the Farm since 1999 using biodynamic practices.  Ira is a graduate of Columbia’s School of Architecture and originally came to the North Fork for a relaxing quality of life.  His wife KK used  biodynamic farming to grow fruits and vegetables for family and friends\, starting in 2001 and Ira became committed to this type of farming.     After KK passed away in 2014\, Ira continued her work\, providing produce for their farmstand and over 10 restaurants in the area.\n\nLouisa Hargrave and her then-husband Alex planted and farmed Long Island’s first commercial vineyard and winery\, Hargrave Vineyard\, from 1973 to 1999.  She has also been a writer\, journalist and wine judge.

SUMMARY:End of Summer Music & Fireworks Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Peconic Landing and the Brecknock Hall Foundation are excited to announce they will host the annual End of Summer Music & Fireworks Celebration\, open to the greater community\, on Sunday\, August 31st. \nSince its 2012 inception\, this free public event has consistently brought in an attendance of over 1000 members of the greater public. The event attracts a multi-generational\, multi-cultural audience to a fun and uplifting event on Labor Day weekend when the North Fork hosts thousands of visitors from places far and wide. \nThe evening starts with music and dancing on the patio of Brecknock Hall followed by a spectacular fireworks show over the ponds. Attendees are invited to bring folding chairs or blankets to enjoy the show from the surrounding lawn. \nThe event starts at 6:30 pm with a live musical performance by SKYLINE. Fireworks will take off at sunset\, approximately 8:15 pm\, launched over Peconic Landing’s community pond. \nA rain date is scheduled for Monday\, September 1.
